Seasonal Applicator Technician

  • Location: West Slope & Front Range, CO
  • Job Type:  25-40 hours per week
  • Pay: $18.00 per hour

The Applicator Technician is a field-based role responsible for the safe, accurate, and environmentally compliant application of herbicides and vegetation control methods across assigned rights-of-way and contract locations This position plays a critical role in executing vegetation management plans by translating prescriptions and work orders into consistent, high-quality field outcomes.

The Applicator Technician operates equipment, applies treatments according to label and regulatory requirements, and maintains detailed records of completed work. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, respect for safety protocols, and the ability to work independently while remaining aligned with broader program objectives.

This position serves as a foundational role within the Vegetation Management organization, ensuring operational reliability, regulatory compliance, and stewardship of client and stakeholder trust.

The following is a list of possible physical activities that will be included in your daily duties:

–        Walking for 10-15 miles in one day

–        Carrying a load of approximately 20 lbs. for long distances

–        Lifting material with a weight of up to 50 lbs.

–        Drive company vehicles in a safe and conscientious manner

–        Working in extreme conditions (i.e. hot or cold weather, wind and insects)

Key Responsibilities

1. Field Application & Task Execution

  • Perform herbicide application and vegetation control activities according to work plans, prescriptions, and label requirements.
  • Operate backpack, truck-mounted, UTV, and handheld application equipment safely and effectively.

  • Follow daily assignments, treatment maps, and instructions provided by supervisors or project leads.
  • Maintain awareness of weather, site conditions, and environmental sensitivities during application.
  • Additional responsibilities include reclamation activities such as seeding, line trimming, mowing, and live planting.

2. Safety & Regulatory Compliance

  • Follow all company safety policies, PPE requirements, and job safety analyses (JSAs).
  • Comply with all federal, state, and local regulations related to chemical handling and application.
  • Immediately report safety hazards, near misses, or incidents to supervision.
  • Maintain required applicator licenses and certifications.

3. Documentation & Reporting

  • Accurately complete daily logs, application records, PARs, and electronic reporting requirements.
  • Ensure treatment data is recorded clearly, completely, and submitted within required timelines.
  • Assist with documentation needed for inspections, audits, or compliance reviews.

4. Equipment & Material Care

  • Conduct pre- and post-use inspections of application equipment and vehicles.
  • Clean, calibrate, and maintain equipment according to procedures.
  • Properly handle, store, and transport herbicides and related materials.
  • Report equipment issues or material shortages promptly.

5. Team Support & Professional Conduct

  • Work collaboratively with crew members, supervisors, and other departments.
  • Follow direction and provide feedback from field observations when appropriate.
  • Represent the company professionally when interacting with landowners, inspectors, or the public.
Preferred Professional Qualifications:
  • Natural resource management/habitat restoration experience
  • Operating UTV/ATV’s in a safe manner
  • Colorado applicator license (107, and 109)
    Minimum Physical Qualifications

    The following is a list of possible physical capabilities and proficiencies required to fulfill the duties of this position:

      • Walking 1-5 miles per day
      • Carrying a load of approximately 20 lbs. for long distances
      • Lifting material with a weight of up to 50 lbs.
      • Possess a valid Driver’s License (with clean driving record)
      • Drive company vehicles in a safe and conscientious manner
      • Working in extreme conditions (i.e. hot or cold weather, wind and insects)
      • Able to work long hours when needed
      • Comfortable working in remote conditions
      • Must pass DOT medical examination and drug screening

    Asset Integrity Technician – North Dakota

    • Job Type: Full-time, permanent
    • Location: Williston, ND based, but work will occur throughout the Bakken.
    • Pay: Base of $26/hr with minimal experience, negotiable depending on experience.

    EcoPoint is hiring an Asset Integrity Technician who will contribute to various types of projects throughout the Bakken both in the field and in the office that range from underground utility locating, using drones, videoing Oil & Gas Facilities to desktop GIS digitization and analysis. The ratio of time spent in the field versus the office will vary based on the seasons, with less fieldwork occurring in the winter. Applicants must have a high level of self-motivation, be able to work independently, and have exemplary work ethic. The applicant will always be expected to represent the company in a professional and safe manner while in the field. Field work, sometimes in harsh weather conditions, includes utility line locates, operating drones, GPS mapping, GIS analysis & digitization, data entry, report writing and other work as assigned. 

    This is a highly autonomous position that requires the ability to navigate to often remote locations (predominantly Oil and Gas related) to use electromagnetic locators, GPS hardware, drone flying and mapping software. Applicants will locate and map underground Oil & Gas facilities to include: electrical, gas, oil, water, and communication systems. Additionally, the applicant will fly the location with drones and digitize Oil & Gas facilities via GIS. 

    The ideal candidate has the ability to locate and map underground utilities, has a basic understanding of Oil and Gas facilities, and has a working knowledge of GIS and ESRI applications. All field equipment, vehicles, and PPE will be provided by the company. The individual will report directly to the Regional Operations Manager. Lots of growth potential as the company grows. 

    Minimum Qualifications
    • Previous utility line locating experience 
    • Ability to work independently or as part of a crew
    • Ability to work safely and complete safety trainings as required
    • Basic computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, tables, etc.
    Preferred Experience
    • Understanding of ESRI products (ArcGIS, Survey123, Workforce, and Collector/Fieldmaps)
    • Understanding of the Oil and Gas Industry and associated regulatory requirements
    • Basic knowledge of Oil and Gas Facility layout design
    • UAS FAA part 107 license

    • Location: Colorado Front Range; Windsor/Greeley area preferred, but flexible based on the candidate’s location
    • Pay: Colorado Base of $20/hr with minimal experience, negotiable depending on experience.

    EcoPoint is looking for an Asset Integrity Technician who will help us streamline energy operations through intelligent data solutions across Colorado’s Front Range both in the field and in the office (Windsor office and from home). Responsibilities are focused on capturing Oil & Gas Facilities via advanced locating equipment, GPS/GNSS, mobile and desktop GIS, and field investigation to map underground infrastructure and document oil and gas infrastructure. Paid training provided. The ratio of time spent in the field versus the office will vary based on the seasons, with less fieldwork occurring in the winter. Occasional short-term travel may be required. Applicants must have a high level of self-motivation, be able to work independently, and have exemplary work ethic. The applicant will always be expected to represent the company in a professional and safe manner while in the field.
