Job Title: Backend Engineer – Geospatial Specialist

Salary:  $100,000 – $150,000.  DOE

We are looking for a highly skilled Backend Engineer with geospatial experience to join our team.

Position Overview:

As a Backend Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the backend infrastructure of our geospatial software solutions. You will work with Geospatial SDKs and APIs, ensuring seamless integration and functionality. Your expertise in ArcGIS, open-source geospatial engineering, Python development, and cloud-based solutions will be crucial in delivering scalable and efficient services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain backend services for geospatial applications using Python or similar.
  • Integrate GIS SDKs and APIs, with a strong emphasis on ArcGIS.
  • Design, develop, and optimize cloud-based scalable microservices for geoprocessing on AWS.
  • Design and develop both RESTful and GraphQL APIs to support frontend and mobile applications.
  • Implement and manage database solutions, preferably using PostgreSQL/PostGIS.
  • Collaborate with front-end developers, data scientists, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality geospatial solutions.
  • Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
  • Troubleshoot and debug complex issues related to backend services and databases.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure our solutions remain cutting-edge.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience as a Backend Engineer with a focus on geospatial applications.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and experience with GIS SDKs and APIs.
  • In-depth knowledge of ArcGIS and its integration into software solutions.
  • Experience with open-source geospatial engineering tools and frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS and cloud-based services.
  • Expertise in designing and developing scalable microservices for geoprocessing.
  • Solid experience with database design and development, particularly PostgreSQL/PostGIS.
  • Experience designing and developing both RESTful and GraphQL APIs.

Preferred Qualifications:

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mobile Engineer with expertise in geospatial concepts, APIs, and SDKs, particularly ArcGIS mobile runtime. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in both Android and iOS development and a successful track record of deploying apps to the app stores. This is a unique opportunity to develop cutting-edge mobile applications that will drive innovation in the energy sector. We are also open to considering experienced engineers looking to take the next step into a senior leadership role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, development, and deployment of mobile applications for both Android and iOS platforms, with a strong emphasis on geospatial functionality.

  • Expertise in geospatial concepts, APIs, and SDKs, particularly ArcGIS mobile runtimes.
  • Experience developing geospatial applications supporting a disconnected environment.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Kotlin, Swift, Java, and Objective-C.
  • Strong understanding of mobile UI/UX principles and best practices.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.

GIS Analyst

Compensation: $20-25/HR DOE

Work Location: Remote; Preferred proximity to Front Range, Colorado

Job Type: Full time, 40 hrs/week

Job Description:

EcoPoint Inc. is looking to hire a full time GIS Analyst to work as a member of a growing GIS team in the Denver area. This will be a highly autonomous position with GIS-related tasks including data analysis, data management and set-up of data collection infrastructure. This work will heavily rely on ESRI products and support oil and gas or environmental services clients. We are seeking individuals who have a passion for learning and a desire to continuously improve their skills. Our ideal candidate is someone who is genuinely excited about providing valuable insights through GIS and is proficient in configuring ArcGIS apps/products.

To be a successful hire applicant must possess a high level of self-motivation, independence, and an exemplary work ethic. Applicants must also meet the following requirements:

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, Computer Science, or equivalent
  • Proficiency with ESRI products (ArcGIS Pro, Survey123, Workforce, and Fieldmaps)
  • Experience with Oil and Gas industry and/or Environmental Science services
  • Experience with automating GIS processes through python scripts
  • Experience with Make to build automated processes

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Understanding of ESRI products (ArcGIS Pro, Survey123, Workforce, and Fieldmaps)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, tablets, etc.
  • Pass an Initial and Random Drug/Alcohol Tests
  • Received or working toward Associates or bachelor’s degree in an GIS or Environmental Science field
